12 Hikes to Do with Kids in Sedona
Sedona is a hiker’s paradise with plenty of options for every type of hiker. With all the choices, you might be wondering which hikes are best for kids. Here are 12 great hikes to do with the family in Sedona.
Bell Rock
Mileage 1.1
Elevation Gain 410
Bell Rock is a popular Sedona hiking destination because it offers something for everyone. The whole family can easily hike up to a great viewpoint while the more adventurous can climb almost all the way to the top.

Raven Caves
Mileage 0.5
Elevation Gain 126
Most people drive right past this little gem that’s located close to the highway. Let the kids wander through several interconnected chambers while you take in views of Oak Creek.
Fay Canyon Arch
Mileage 1.5
Elevation Gain 330
The whole family can hike a mostly flat trail to a viewing platform for Fay Canyon Arch. A short (but steep) scramble will get you right under it. Let the kids explore the rest of Fay Canyon after your visit to the arch.

Birthing Cave
Mileage 1.9
Elevation Gain 280
This might be the easiest cave to hike to in Sedona, so it’s perfect for kids. The downside is that it’s not quite as impressive as other caves.
Doe Mountain
Mileage 1.2
Elevation Gain 492
Give your kids that “top of the world” feeling without a grueling hike on Doe Mountain. There are viewpoints on both sides, and it makes a great place to watch the sunset.

Keyhole Cave
Mileage 2.1
Elevation Gain 561
Keyhole Cave is one of the biggest caves in Sedona and offers great views. Good climbers can continue onto the second level, but we’ll guess most moms won’t want their kids to climb up there.
Hikes for Older Kids
If your kids are older or experienced adventurers, you can try these slightly more challenging hikes.
Soldier Pass Cave
Mileage 3.1
Elevation Gain 595
Hike past Devil’s Kitchen and Seven Sacred Pools on one of the most rewarding hikes in all of Sedona. There’s a bit of climb to get up inside Soldier Pass Cave, but even small kids can enjoy the arches from below.

Devil’s Bridge
Mileage 5.7
Elevation Gain 728
You’ll probably have to wait in line to get a photo op on this Sedona classic, but you can enjoy the spectacular views while you’re waiting. People with 4-wheel-drive can shorten this hike to just 1.7 miles.
Subway Cave
Mileage 4.7
Elevation Gain 534
You’ve seen the Instagram pictures, and Subway Cave delivers everything it claims to be. However, the crowds can take away from the experience.

Cathedral Rock
Mileage 1.5
Elevation Gain 788
Many people hike Cathedral Rock to experience the purported vortex, but it’s a worthwhile hike even if you’re not into that. The views are outstanding, and the hike up there is an adventure the kids will love.
Snoopy Rock
Mileage 2.1
Elevation Gain 650
If you’re wanting to avoid the big crowds, but still want a great adventure, try Snoopy Rock. Once you get on top of the red mesa, there’s a short little scramble up onto the “belly” of this beloved cartoon pup.

West Fork Trail
Mileage 6.5
Elevation Gain 512
If you’re looking for a hike where the kids can dip their toes in the water, try West Fork. The reward is in the beauty you’ll see all along the way, so you can make this hike as short or as long as you’d like.
